I treated my husband to two days away here and got a deal on one of the sea facing rooms on the first floor. Large room with floor to ceiling windows and tucked away study and wardrobe area. Beautiful deep blue and white decor with light wood panelling in areas. Very comfortable bed. Traffic noise but was expecting that. Very clean wet room with strong shower and Green and Spring toiletries. All the staff were excellent and friendly from front office, bar staff and the cleaners who greeted us each morning. … Richard Hayes runs a great operation. Shame about the scaffolding at the property next door but at least this time it was not in front of the hotel!! The breakfasts were great and the Dilsk restaurant v v good. I miss the Alberto Martinez paintings upstairs which have been replaced with some pretty but unexceptional art. In my opinion of course! Atmosphere in the lounge was relaxed, other guests were fun and we were well looked after. Thanks for another lovely stay…

We had what the hotel calls a "Great Room", which is 2-steps up from their entry-level "Good Room", with the added bonus of a great sea view. The room was small but reasonably well equipped, with a comfortable bed, large towels, and a kettle, but with a shower inside a bath and no fridge. The disappointment was due to the hotel looking tired inside an externally great looking building, with all sorts of neglect that you wouldn't associate with a relatively expensive 4 star hotel. For example, a dripping ceiling in the somewhat dank breakfast room; repairs either not done, or done in a rather slap-dash way not in keeping with the rest of the decor; a broken air-conditioning unit and stands left outside our door; huge laundry bags cluttering up the hallway. The public area was also small and soulless. Cannot recommend

Wonderfully charming hotel in an excellent seafront location. The entire staff were absolutely wonderful and made our stay all the better with their kind attention and their unpretentious hospitality. The lounge bar is both elegant and comfortable and the service, excellent. Breakfast is not to be missed with a full range of freshly prepared cooked dishes. The only detail to be aware of is one can end up on the 4th floor and there is no elevator. There is a ‘dumb waiter’ for the luggage, but for mortals, it’s the climb! When we return, which I am sure we will, I’ll ask for a room at a lover elevation! Thank you all for a wonderful stay!
