The Hotel Soho Barcelona is located on Gran Vía, next to Plaça Universitat. An ideal location for walking to the centre of Barcelona. The hotel is just a few minutes from Plaça Catalunya, La Rambla or Passeig de Gràcia and, for business travellers, the Fira de Barcelona, in Plaça Espanya. The Hotel Soho’s privileged location means that a visit to such emblematic places as the Mercat de la Boqueria, the Teatre del Liceu, the MACBA, the Picasso Museum, the CCCB or the Gothic quarter is just a pleasant walk away.

I couldn't not write about my super stay at Hotel Soho between 12-19 August as it was such a perfect experience, enhanced by the wonderful staff. A particularly special word for Frederico at the front desk who we were really looking forward to meet based on all the glowing reviews and he didn't disappoint; he really does go the extra mile to help all guests and deserves an award - I've stayed in hotels for over 30 years and never felt better looked after or cared for and he is by far the most memorable - and missed - aspect of my stay! Everything else was perfect too, from the immaculate, stylish and comfortable rooms to the super continental breakfast beautifully prepared and presented and the wonderful sundeck and dipping pool that was spacious and clean, and an essential part of my requirement being partially diabled with a lift straight up to the deck itself. So top marks all round and Hotel Soho is firmly in mind now for my visit to Barcelona next year; on top of everything else the location is top notch with a super organic supermarket nearby and some amazing restaurants, especially if you enjoy the freshest seafood. Thank you Hotel Soho for one of the best hotel expriences I've ever enjoyed!

We couldn't choose a better place to stay for a couple of nights during our brief summer visit to Barcelona. Hotel Soho is definitely our favourite hotel to stay while visiting the city. The great location, the city views, the amazing rooms, the delicious breakfast, that gorgeous rooftop with the swimming pool that we enjoyed (specially my son) so much morning and afternoon and the exceptional service we always get from Roberto and the whole Soho team, they make us feel welcome everytime we visit and they always make our stay memorable. Thank you so much for another great stay. Looking forward coming back hopefully very soon. Bobby & Nuria (Bath,UK)

The hotel is conveniently located. Frederico really stood out as an exceptional staff member, thanks to his excellent hospitality. However, the other gentleman, who is rather larger in stature, is rather unfriendly and grumpy from day one. He needs to learn to be friendlier towards the guests. Even a small gesture like good morning and a simple nod or smile to acknowledge the guests would be sufficient. The rooms are lovely and clean, but there's a significant lack of soundproofing. As I expected, there's a lot of road noise. You'll need to bring thicker earplugs! Light control is a bit complex, and the instructions on the various light switches had worn off, making it challenging to distinguish between them. The tea and coffee station doesn't have a power station close by, so I had to bring the water kettle to the table next to the bed or on the floor underneath the TV each time I needed it. The breakfast is pretty disappointing. The coffee with milk tastes bad, and the scrambled eggs taste like they're from a powder and smell rotten/not fresh. We reserved a room with breakfast included, but after the terrible first breakfast, we went straight downstairs and ate breakfast at the bellapan cafe for the rest of our stay. The worst part of our stay was on the second day. At 4 a.m., we were woken up by a call from the receptionist who had mistakenly informed us that we had a guest downstairs. We were in deep sleep and were harshly woken up by the loud sound of the telephone. We brought this up with them the next morning and they said they'd check with the staff on duty that night (Chris) and let me know. On the day of checkout, I asked if they had already been made aware of the incident. Frederico filled us in on what happened. It seems that other guests from the same floor have been going on multiple internet dates and bringing people into his room, number 61. The person gave our room number incorrectly, though. We were pretty surprised that the night staff did not bother to check the name of the guests before letting someone in. This could lead to a dangerous situation because we didn't know the person, and our safety could be at risk. The hotel just apologized of the situation and no further action was taken or offered even though this is a serious problem which resulted in our disturbance and loss of sleep.
